Privacy Policy

1. About this policy

Irrigant provides agricultural software and support through its website, Helios, Ask Helios, and Text Helios. This policy explains how Irrigant collects, uses, and discloses information when you use these services or contact us. It also explains your choices about messages, AI processing, research, and your records.

Different features collect different information. Connecting a service or enabling a feature can involve the additional processing described below.

2. Information we collect

Account and contact information

We collect information you provide when you create an account, pair a phone, request support, or communicate with us. This can include your name, email address, phone number, organization, account identifiers, and correspondence. Our account system stores password hashes rather than readable account passwords.

Farm and field information

We collect farm information that you enter, import, or authorize us to retrieve. This can include:

• Farm and field names, locations, coordinates, time zones, and field areas.
• Crops, planting details, soil characteristics, and irrigation equipment information.
• Irrigation records, water applications, observations, operating notes, and management preferences.
• Sensor identifiers, measurements, timestamps, and connection information.
• Weather information, analysis inputs, forecasts, reports, and saved results associated with your fields.

Farm records can reveal personal or commercially sensitive information, including where you operate.

Conversations and actions

We process messages you send, AI responses, relevant conversation history, feedback, saved notes, tasks, and reminders. We also record actions the service performs, such as updating a field or cancelling a reminder.

Messaging and consent records

We collect phone or chat identifiers, pairing records, message identifiers, timestamps, delivery status, and messaging errors. We record messaging consent, AI consent, research choices, and opt-out requests separately.

Technical information

Our applications and hosting providers process technical information needed to operate and protect the service. This can include IP addresses, browser information, request timestamps, session information, errors, and service usage records.

Connected services

If you connect a sensor platform or another supported service, we process the credentials or access tokens needed for that connection. We retrieve the records needed for the feature you enable. For example, an IrroCloud connection can provide sensor measurements and device information.

Do not send passwords, payment card numbers, government identification numbers, or unrelated sensitive personal information in a farm conversation.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

• Create accounts, authenticate users, and separate each account's records.
• Provide farm dashboards, analysis, conversations, reports, and requested support.
• Retrieve relevant weather, sensor, and field information.
• Save records and perform supported actions that you request.
• Deliver messages, requested reminders, and enabled farm check-ins.
• Record consent and honor opt-out requests.
• Investigate errors, prevent misuse, and maintain service security.
• Evaluate service operation and correct defects.
• Meet applicable legal obligations and resolve disputes.

The separate research section below governs the use of identifiable farm records for Irrigant research or model training.

4. AI processing

Helios features can use a third-party AI provider to generate responses and select supported actions. The current provider integration uses the DeepSeek API. We present a provider disclosure and request separate consent before enabling the covered AI conversation feature.

The provider can receive your messages, relevant conversation history, farm context, field names, operating notes, tasks, and relevant tool results. This information helps the provider answer your question and carry out supported requests.

Text Helios excludes account identifiers and stored exact coordinates from its structured context tools. However, messages and notes can contain identifying details or coordinates that you enter yourself. These details can reach the provider as part of the conversation.

DeepSeek states that it processes and stores personal data in the People's Republic of China. Its public terms permit certain uses of de-identified inputs and outputs to improve its services. Its public documents do not establish a fixed retention period for our API requests. We do not promise that API content is excluded from all provider training or improvement uses.

Read the DeepSeek Privacy Policy and DeepSeek Terms of Use. Our consent disclosure identifies the provider terms relevant to the enabled feature.

You can withdraw Text Helios AI consent through the workspace or by sending AI OFF from your paired phone. Withdrawal stops future AI use covered by that consent. It cannot recall information already sent to a provider.

5. SMS and other messaging

Text Helios uses Twilio and mobile carriers to exchange SMS messages. These providers process phone numbers, message content, delivery information, and related metadata to operate the messaging service. If you use the Telegram integration, Telegram processes messages and account information under its own policies.

Text Helios sends farm conversations, requested reminders, and occasional farm check-ins after you opt in. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Creating an account or pairing a phone does not, by itself, grant SMS consent. After pairing, send START to opt in. Reply STOP to stop messages or HELP for assistance. You can also contact henry@irrigant.xyz. Consent to SMS messages is not a condition of purchase.

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not provide mobile numbers or messaging consent to affiliates for their own marketing or promotional use. We share SMS consent records only as needed to operate messaging through service providers or meet a legal requirement. Other disclosures described in this policy do not authorize the sale or transfer of SMS consent for another party's marketing.

STOP cancels pending Text Helios reminders. START does not restore cancelled reminders. Stopping messages does not delete your account or saved farm records. See our Terms & Conditions for the SMS program terms.

6. Research and model development

Using the product does not automatically enroll you in Irrigant research. Messaging consent and AI provider consent are separate from research consent.

We request separate permission before using identifiable farm records or saved reports for optional Irrigant research or model training. The research notice must explain the records involved, the purpose, recipients, and withdrawal conditions. The current Text Helios integration records research choices but does not run a research transfer.

You can change the available research setting or contact us to withdraw permission for future research use. Withdrawal does not undo completed analyses or automatically remove information from previously trained models or published results. Any specific research agreement must explain these limits before participation.

Irrigant research consent does not control an external AI provider's processing under its own terms.

7. When we disclose information

We disclose information to the following recipients where needed for the purposes described in this policy:

• Hosting and storage providers, including Railway for the hosted service.
• Twilio and mobile carriers for SMS delivery.
• Telegram when you use that integration.
• The disclosed AI provider when you enable the relevant AI feature.
• Weather and agricultural data services used by a feature you request.
• Connected sensor platforms that you authorize.
• Personnel and service providers who support, maintain, or secure Irrigant.

Weather requests can disclose field coordinates to the weather provider, including the US National Weather Service. AI provider minimization does not mean that location-based weather requests omit coordinates.

We may disclose information when law requires it or when necessary to investigate misuse or protect legal rights and safety. If Irrigant undergoes a merger or business transfer, information may transfer subject to this policy and applicable law. The restrictions on SMS consent and marketing use continue to apply.

We do not sell personal information or disclose it to third parties for their own advertising campaigns. External providers may have separate retention and processing terms. We cannot promise that deleting an Irrigant record deletes their copies immediately.

8. Cookies and browser storage

Our account applications use session cookies to keep you signed in. Some dashboards use browser storage for preferences, selected fields, saved analysis results, or pending feedback. Information in browser storage can remain on a shared device after you close the page.

You can clear cookies and browser storage through your browser settings. Clearing them can sign you out or remove information stored only on that device. It does not delete server records.

9. Retention

We retain information according to its purpose, the feature you use, and applicable legal requirements.

• Text Helios conversation content and action receipts use a 90-day retention period in the application.
• Scheduled cleanup removes expired records during service operation. A service interruption can delay cleanup.
• Saved farm context remains separate from conversation history until you edit it, remove it, or request deletion.
• Pairing and consent records remain as needed to operate the connection and honor messaging choices.
• We retain opt-out records as needed to prevent messages that you have declined.
• Sensor records, analysis history, support correspondence, and security records follow the needs of their respective features.

Deleting active records does not immediately erase copies in existing backups. Backup copies remain until the applicable backup retention period ends, subject to legal preservation requirements. Contact us for the retention details that apply to your account or a particular feature.

10. Your choices and requests

You can edit supported farm information in your workspace. The Text Helios workspace provides authenticated messaging export and deletion controls. Messaging deletion removes local messaging records and unlinks the phone. It does not remove all saved farm context or other Helios records.

For broader access, correction, export, or deletion requests, email henry@irrigant.xyz. Identify the account and the records or service involved. Do not email your password. We may verify your identity and authority before releasing or deleting information.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to restrict processing, object, withdraw consent, or challenge our response. We handle applicable requests within the time required by law. Some records may remain where law requires retention or permits a specific exception. We explain an applicable exception when responding to your request.

11. Security and international processing

We use account access controls and other technical measures designed to protect information. No service, device, or transmission method provides complete security. SMS is not an end-to-end encrypted channel and does not provide strong proof of account ownership.

Our providers can process information outside your state or country, including in the United States and China. Data protection rules can differ between those locations. We apply the safeguards required by law for transfers that are subject to those requirements.

12. Children

Irrigant's services are intended for adults who manage farms or related business activities. They are not directed to children under 18. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact henry@irrigant.xyz.

13. Changes and contact

We publish policy changes on this page and update the effective date. For material changes, we provide additional notice when required by law. A policy update does not replace separate consent where consent is required.
